Anchorless

The misfits and the different,

the voiceless from before,

orange hair and shaved,

walkers, wheelchairs, canes.

The people are tired,

incensed, abused, outraged,

but brave enough to say no,

brave enough to stand.

Hierarchy is unraveling.

Media, dispersal, concern

—too much to be ignored,

too much to be contained.

You may build Cop City,

but you can’t hold us down.

You’ll cling to power,

but your grip won’t last long.

Yes, the circle is forming.

The loom is weaving.

The bonds are strong.

You may hold on

but you won’t for long.
